>Hello, Matt --
We'd love to have you at our Festival!  Kayak fishing fits right in with
celebrating rivers.

Non-profits and clubs are provided free booth space.  I have cc'ed Steve
Exe here on this e-mail as he is coordinating booth space and I'll have
him reserve you a spot.  You'll just need to bring your own table and
chairs and tent, if you want them.

OK Is there anyone out there that may want do this with me. It is June 9th-11th I was thinking of just taking some chairs and my two kayaks to set up for folks to see. Just sit there and drink beer and talk about fishing. Answer some questions if I can. Maybe set up a poster board with some pictures of folks fishing from there yaks, as well as promote some derbys like the one Allan was talking about in moutcha Bay
I don't want to do it by my self, thats no fun. so What do you say guys and gals. I know its not fishing but it could be fun. Don't have to do it for the whole weekend, just one day I think would be good.
Pisco what do ya say, being you are the closest.

Matt,

Let's stay in sync on this one.  One thing I learned at the Symposium this weekend is that we need to have cards to hand out.  I'll get some made and send some your way if you attend this event.

I was originally planning on heading south to Oregon, then thought about attending this with you, but then was asked today if I could attent the REI Demo Days on June 10th in Seattle.

Not a problem, and I apoligize if stepped on any toes. My idea was really just to get the IDEA of yak fishing out there in the hopes of getting some fishing buddies on this side of the hill. I am willing to do one day. Although I will go down on friday to get the booth area set and know where I am going. I remember last year, and It looked kind of busy.

No problem here and no toes stepped on.  I welcome the participation.  Thanks for thinking of this and following through on it.  Let me know how I can help.

My wifes B'day is Sat., the 10th. I would be TOAST, if I planned something to do with fishing on that day.  :-\ There's always the Salmon Fest in Leavonworth; which I think is the next month.

Just to let you know that river fest was a last weekend and went ok. Met some nice folks and had a few folks get really intrested. Brian from mountain sports said we could post a flyer for the derby in his shop, so when you get something to print I will print some and take them over there. I entered a drawing for a $700 dry suit so if I win that it will make it WELL worth the effort.
It is a challenge to get non fishing kayakers intrested in fish yaking. But I think I did on a few. ::)

Thanks Matt.  I'm pulling for you on the dry suit.  I'll have flyers and registration up by this weekend  (or perhaps over the weekend)  The number of unregistered guests  that have been visiting the site has increased in the last couple days.  If you're one of those unregistered guests, log in and say hello!!!   8)

Well, as I tried to demonstrate in the recent poll, it will be much easier to convert fishermen than it is to convert kayakers.  So if you really want to make a scene, go fish a couple bass and walleye tourneys over there!   ;D
