Good day out there besides the rain. Not a lot of people. Just a few boats hanging around. Saw a couple pick up fish. I hit my first king right off the bat. First 15 minutes hit one just past the condos at around 45 ft trolling 30. Second one took about another hour or so to get. Hit it almost in the same spot but trolling in 35 ft at 15ft. Will definitely have to get the go pro footage up.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170923/11185d5631f9c16c8ce304fd1e82cca5.jpg)

Yah baby! Great job! Added bonus of not having to mark them down for annual limits in September! Wish the forecast was better not that it should stop me.
Maybe I just need to find a job on the Peninsula....
get the video cranked up!!! Thanks for the update!

Sunday Report....
Fishing in the rain sucks
So I went to Homer Sunday morning. When I got to the launch I saw a powerboat working their net. I decided to fish, even though it was breezy, and raining hard. I fished about 3 hours with nothing to show for it. I did have one good bite, only to find my tackle was tangled. I did catch a Pollack. I haven't seen one of those for a while.
Perhaps the most telling thing for me is that there were only about 1/2 dozen power boats working the end of the Spit. It was about the same yesterday (I watched a little, but didn't fish). There were two kayaks yesterday. I was the only one today. My point is, if the fish were thick, there would be a lot more boats hitting them. For now, it looks like you need to put in your time and hope you're there when the fish are.
It did quit raining and blowing for about an hour this morning. That was pleasant. Then the rain started again.
Did I mention fishing in the cold rain sucks.
