I'm planning on going no matter what. I'll be camping out on the beach or something I figure. What's everyone else's plan?  I figure if more were camping we could take over a small section of beach.

I'll be camping too. I am bringing a tent with a stove in it. Last year it got cold at night! I'll probably camp at whiskey gulch

So long as it's not Mother's Day weekend (house guests...) we're planning to do the sme as last year: Whiskey Gulch camping, community feasting, campfire, tall tales and ---- CAKE. Andy promised.

I'll check with the Anchor Point booth at the Sportsman's show whether it's scheduled yet. I'm guessing it will be May 18 this year.

Sounds cool, I've got a 10x10 canopy I'll be dragging down along with tent and other stuff (and some firewood). Anyone wants to test drive the AI while down there just feel free to ask...

Woohoo!  Love to see this thread pop up early. I'll be there though the inn at Anchor Point is more likely for this softie. Can't sacrifice derby readiness...is my lame excuse.

I'm guessing May 18th. I asked some folks who are checking. Keep in mind currents are for a few mikes offshore.

Might be tough. Tides are wrong but small. So maybe ok.

Andy, I'm a wimp. My "spinach" is fishing. It's about the only thing I do that even registers on any activity scale. Waking up freezing is something I enjoyed 20yrs ago. Lol. i suppose there are things that do not change....

I wasn't calling you a wimp.  It's easier to convince travel partners to come stay in a hotel.

I too am not a fan of freezing, but I'm a tightwad.....sometimes.  Hopefully I might one day upgrade my camping setup to a small camper/rv so I can be comfy and take showers

lol. l No worries.  I was calling myself one! Yup a small RV is definitely something to consider! Especially if I can get the gf kayking!!!

Weather looking decent.  Might try a practice run again but I think up North by WHiskey Gulch is still a tad early.

No but one indication is its traditionally held on Mother's Day weekend so the 11th. Heard that from a guide down there.  That's not confirmed though. Was that the case last year?
