A friend is coming up from California tomorrow for some fishing. We will definitely be fishing the Willapa River. Just curious if anyone has been fishing for salmon on the Big C lately ? We really don't want to catch any clams.... ::)

Any recent action down there ???

If last year and the year before are any indicators, it'll be worth your while to fish the Shipwreck for Coho.
Focus on the hours around the high tide and don't overlook the Pink and silver bluefox spinners.

Weekend before last....released 2 chinook, one wild coho before keeping 1 small hatchery coho.  Think it's been spikey....hopefully this rain will improve it some. Hope to find a day this weekend.
Good luck, guys

If last year and the year before are any indicators .....

Sadly when it comes to coho... last years catch isn't the best indicator for this years return.

There you go preaching doom and gloom Brian.   ;)

There are Coho coming in to the Columbia and now would be the time to catch em Mark.  They may not be as thick as last year but they'll be around.

I totally agree Mark. Caught coho into November last year. Just wondered if there was any recent catching....
Are there any nets working the Colombia right now ? They should be showing up soon there and on the Willapa. Maybe Grays Harbor too....

So many options and so little time........ ::) ::) ::)

Thanks for the link Brian! I want to be as optimistic as anyone, but hey, I'm a nerdy engineer and will typically trust the research.
