Title: Lowman Beach Park
Post by: BugNerd on August 12, 2018, 08:12:36 PM
Launched from Lowman this morning (12Aug) and tried mooching with whole herring.  Got a couple bites, and lost the herring.  I assumed they were rock sole or something and not salmon.  Didn't get a chance to try jigging, but will next time.

Found a couple really nice bait balls while out there.  Super inexperienced on the kayak in the Sound, so any help or tag along trip would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Lowman is where I launch for Lincoln Park. There is going to be flounder and dogfish out front, but hang a left and from about a 5 minute paddle going S to the point (where Colman spool is) is a traditional salmon zone. There can be a lot of PB’s trolling so if you are not trolling (or trolling w/o a downrigger) give them space. Usually a good zone is closer to the point. A lot of guys cast from the shore but I tend to focus on deeper water (70’+). If using herring you will encounter dogfish.
