Tillamook bay Tuesday 27th 0600-0700 launch with low at 7:54 open invite.

Short report

Well done with the combo seafood meal for Tillamook Bay. October has some low tides with reasonable AM hours and thus far weather pattern predictions are good.
What are your availabilities for mid month low tide excursions?
-
Had hoped for some bigger perch, but a pretty productive day overall. Lots of tasty sea meats!

Well unfortunately deer season starts Saturday and I really need to get pops on a nice buck…. So fishing has to take a sideline to hunting for the time being until we can put a couple deer in the cooler. But launch 2 hours or so before low tide and your golden.

Damned short, indeed.

looks nice! I really want to get out there. Did you guys set pots on the jetty side of the narrows or drop them before going through? I have friday off and thinking of going. looks like low is 915 at Garibaldi, is that a typically do able Tide or would you want slightly earlier?
-
I had my trap just a lil past the crabbing dock. Checked it 3 times, had 1-3 nice big males each time, in addition to 4-5 smalls.
The timing of the low on Fri should be fine. I think it's more the size of the swing that matters. Of course, you want to avoid the areas of high flow, when it's really ripping.

Good to know! Thanks! Ive never gone for perch before, did you use a high-low rig? curious how to prep them/how they eat. Are they best whole or do you fillet them?
-
Yes, hi low rig. Had a lil swim bait on 1/4 Oz jighead, on the bottom. At one point, something that probably wasn't a perch, grabbed it, stripped a bunch of line, and sawed me off on a piling.
Was actually my first time targeting them in Oregon. I filleted mine, pretty decent amount of meat in proportion to their size.
By all accounts, pretty good eating, have yet to consume mine tho.
