NO! I was not killed by my boat when I got tangled in the drogue when the boat got swept up into a passing water spout. ::)  I didn't get out today, but tomorrow looks good.

This is just another under-prepared newbie. Nobody got hurt (optimal conditions), but easily avoidable in hindsight. (isn't everything?)

lesson is: do a "pre-flight".  i learned to fly several years ago and one of the most important things learned is to do a thorough, systematic pre-flight of the plane using a checklist.  good idea for any machine or contraption that you're going to trust your life to.  things like drain plug, visual inspection of the hull, function checks for VHF's, GPS, FF, cell phone etc should be on the list.

that's what i take away from it anyway.
