Few men are blessed with wives that love to fish. Even fewer that enjoy kayak fishing. My wife loves to fish especially if she gets to kill it and eat it.  E.g....no bass fishing for her. Since we moved away from the lower Columbia inland we've really taken to eating Walleye. I love fishing for them, she does not, but she loves to eat them. They are finicky biters that don't put up much a fight and generally the best fishing is when its miserable to be out on the water. So to my surprise I asked what she wanted to do on her birthday she asked I take her Walleye fishing. Mind you water temps are in the mid-30's and air temps no much higher...perfect conditions for someone who hates fishing in the cold and hates Walleye. She had a modest goal of catching 3 which she did. I guess birthday wishes do come true.

Really enjoy your videos, Tyler.  Very informative and occasionally a good laugh.  What a great birthday.
How did you cook them up?  Did you skin them and panko fry the chunks?  I have yet to eat some Pacific Northwest Walleye, heard they taste different to midwest walleye.

That was a great way to start my morning.  Thanks!
I expected the worst, but it was worse than I expected...

Nice story. I don't know anything about walleye. It's nice to have goals, too.

We prepare them various way but we always skin them. This time we egg drenched and dipped in corn starch before frying and then poured a garlic/sesame/soy sauce/korean red pepper paste reduction over the top of them to spice them up.

Enjoyed the video as always, usp! I agree walleye are one of the better freshwater fish. Wish I could find some spots close to home that fished that well. More exploration required!  ;D
