I was chatting with one of the guys in the fishing department of Wholesale Sports on Friday and it turns out Sportsman's Warehouse is coming back. The gal at the cash register was worried because they won't know if they all still have a job until Monday.
From what they were saying all of the Wholesale Sports locations will be shut down for a week or so sometime in March or early April so they can change everything back to Sportsman's.
If you guys are looking for any new rods or reels you may want to wait a few weeks for the "grand opening" as rumor has it there will be some sweet deals.
Personally I'm glad Sportsman's is coming back. Wholesale's selection is garbage.

Also included in that is the return up here of GI Joe's too.....
Now i understand why there were so many signs about the name change at the local store.

That's good to hear.  I liked Sportsman's.  (And I never broke the habit of calling it Sportsman's either so it worked out just fine!  :D )

Seems the Canadians didn't like our taxes and obamacare, and sold them back.  Canadian stores will still be called wholesale sports.

The way Wholesale placed their orders sucked big time. They ordered items in set amounts and when something sold out they waited forever to order more. Not to mention that they for some reason didn't have some pretty basic staple brands available in their stores.
Sportsmans was on the ball with keeping their shelves stocked and carried a lot of brands that are proven for this demographic. I can't wait for them to open back up.

I was in there Friday as well and got the same intel. I also picked up a bunch of deeply discounted  deep running crankbaits with which I intend to win the  NA bass tourney.  ;)

That's good to hear, I was in the Salem store last Saturday and they had a sign at the register saying they couldn't accept checks after Feb 28th, that's a definite indicator that a business is about to shut the doors.  Sportsman's I like.

Sportman's has been "back" in the Puyallup area for a lil while now. Went in back in November and it didn't seem to be any better than wholesale sports.

It could be, but not necessarily.  There is a growing number of businesses that are not accepting checks anymore simply because it's a crappy way of doing business.  It's way too easy for someone to write a bad check and walk away with merchandise and check automation services can be pricy.

Glad to see that they are at the old GI Joe's location.   Joe's was my "Go To"  place to drop into when playing hooky from work.
Automotive Dept and Sporting Goods was a Win Win for guys.
I used to think that Bigfoot might exist. Then I saw the reality shows where they are looking for them.  Now I am certain they don't

Tell me about it. I used to work in the fishing department in the Vancouver location. They might as well have paid me in green label herring and kwikfish cuz most of my salary went right back where it came from.
