Since I will undoubtedly (I hope) need to measure some fish over 30" - does anyone know of a slick and handy way of supplementing the hawg trough measurement capablitiy?

One of the guys that organizes the Gimme Shelter tournament on NCKA makes extensions that go out to 42".  He's got a Word file you can download and print.  Then you just laminate it, and attach it through the hole at the end of the trough.

I've seen pics where other guys have attached rulers or something that can either slide or swing out to give the extra capacity.

Are you measuring them on or off the water?

If off the water a tape measure works just fine.
