It's supposed to be pretty darn nice tomorrow. I'm looking to get out to a lake and see if I can get some points on the board for Kayak Wars. I've only fished Kapowsin with nothing to show for it, so I'm looking to try somewhere different.

If you're really into bass fishing, I'd recommend checking out Silver Lake in Cowlitz County.  It's probably around 1.5 hrs drive for you, and I've heard it's one of the best waters for big largemouth in Western WA.  I haven't fished it personally yet, but I'm planning to. I've met a tournament fisherman from the Vancouver area that says it can be great, and he's caught bass in the 6-8lb range out of there.  I could get some hints from him on specific places to start based on weather/water temps since it's a big lake.

Although I'm away on business at the moment, I would like to hit Silver Lake in April after I get my new kayak.  Maybe we could plan to meet up there sometime this Spring.

With part of Silver Lake freezing would that make the water temp take longer to warm up? Yea hooking up for some Bass Slammin sounds good! I'll search around on line to see what I can find out about it.

Re: Silver Lake...go onto Ifish and find posts by a guy calling himself exbassguide or something akin to that. He's posted maps and guides to the fishery. I guess he worked as a Silver Lake guide for a while. Lots of dudes swear by his info. He even conducts classes and clinics for free. May be a worthwhile foray into learning the tricks...

I will be fishing Cullaby lake, Oregon though for largies.  I will also be fishing for my rod I lost last weekend.

I will be fishing Cullaby this year as well.  I fished it one time last fall - early October.  That's where you lost your rod?  Did you hook into any bass last weekend?

I did not hook into any last weekend.  It was half assed attempt after I lost my rod and only fished for 2 hours carnahan side.

I lost it in Cullaby, didn't have any rod leashes yet, just got my yak the day before.  What do you fish?  We should hook up and fish.  You ever fish sunset, brownsmead, westport?

What kayak did you get?  I just relocated to OR last season, and I've only fished freshwater so far, except for a one time where the salt water is warm.  I've never fished sunset, brownsmead, westport...are these all locations on the PC?  I'm overseas at the moment, but I'm planning to get my new solo SOT within the next few weeks.  I haven't demo'd one yet, but I've pretty much decided to go with the OK Trident 13.
