Looking for an entry level budget friendly sit on top kayak in the 300-400ish price range. Used is okay in good condition. I am looking for a 12ft or similar. 10 feet to small I think. I would like some adequate storage room. I like the Pescador 12 and the field and stream eagle talon. So anything that is similar.  I am just getting into kayak fishing and would like to be able to join my buddies a few times this year.

Thanks

I was asking the same question 2 years ago.   I researched at different kayak forums and ended up going with the Pescador.  It seemed one of the most recommended new kayaks for the price.  It is essentially the same as the older styled Wilderness Tarpon 120  which was a proven design and popular for many years.  This is why I chose it over the F&S Eagle Talon.

I have only had one issue with it so far.  Though I and gear come in 100 lbs less then its stated capacity of 350 lbs , I find it takes on enough water I can't open the mid access port without water getting in.  Very inconvenient as that would be the perfect place to store items to be within easy reach.
I noticed on the new 13 foot version,  they moved that access hatch back to a higher point which would resolve the issue.    Though the new Pescador 13' is longer and wider than the 12' version, they now rate it at only 300 lbs capacity.

I have picked up a couple of used kayaks since then which would have been a better choice for my first purchase if I could do it over again.

I used to think that Bigfoot might exist. Then I saw the reality shows where they are looking for them.  Now I am certain they don't

Yeah. I am 5'7 at 220lbs. So need something that's going to keep me afloat and dry too.

Well I'm looking at letting go of my Malibu Pro Angler, probably need to get closer to 500 for it, but that with a paddle and comfort seat and good mojo;)  (We've caught a lot of fish out of it). I'll PM  you some pics if you are interested.  Would consider a partial trade too.

Sorry, that is a Pro Explorer, not Pro Angler.

In seeing Pro Angler and $500 in the same sentence,  I was getting my check book out   ;D

Considering the Explorer new looks to be a $700+ kayak without a seat or paddle,  if it is in half way decent shape,  that is great deal.
Looking over photo's of it online,  I like it much more than my Pescador.  Guessing it's 450 lbs rating is more realistic also.

Sorry, I'm dislexic or something.

I'll get those pics off, as far as trade, fishing gear is at the top of my list, otherwise what have you got?
