Thinking of heading over to the Cedaroak Ramp in West Linn on Thursday for some Spring Chinook fishing on the Willamette river for a couple of hours after work.  If anybody is interested in coming along you are welcome to meet me there.

If all goes well, I will be at the ramp by 5, and on the water by 5:30.  Sunset is around 7:45 so that gives me about 2 hours to fish.  This will be my 3rd time out this year for Salmon (0 for 2 so far), and I'm pretty green to it, so don't expect much.  But I did mark a lot of fish in that area.  Most likely fishing sardine wrapped Kwik Fish or maybe some Cut Plug Herring if I can get to Joes in time tonight.  Bring a light, just in case.

I'm no expert but the concensus from springer PB'ers seems to be.

- Fish the insides of corners
- 19' is the magic number for springers
- Troll as slow as you can and still have action on your presentation
- Check the action of your presentation every 20min or so

I wish I could join you!

I work up in N. Po, and getting away in time to catch up with you may be a challenge.  I want to get out, though.  I bought some herring at Fishermen's the other day, and I'm going to try and brine it up tonight.

Failing some fishing after work, I'm probably going to be back at Gilbert River boat ramp this weekend.

You guys might consider Sellwood or the Hawthorne Bridges as a middle ground alternative. Both have very easy launches, good parking, and fishing. Sellwood on either side and Hawthorne on the east side. You can launch in the marina on the west side as well, but the parking is a pain and expensive. Just troll with the rest of fleet.

Nice night, fished for about 2 hours, but no fish on the hook.  Although I did mark many fish.  No gurantee they were spingers, but in 30' of water I'd see 4-5 fish in the 15-25' feet range - I would think those are my targets.  Spoke to a few fisherman while loading up, 2 of the 4 boats I asked had each gotten 1 fish (and one of those guys about knocked me over with booze breath), so there are fish in the Willy.  Fished cut plug herring.
