I have sworn to never do business with Alder Creek. I found their staff to be rude and unprofessional.

I encourage all kayak fishermen to do the same.

+1.  I don't usually hold grudges, but I'll make an exception in this case ...

This may before a lot of you got here, but one particular staff member in general attacked the community and members of the community, both here and on facebook.  He even called a member out to fight.  It was an ongoing thing that only ended once I contacted the shop and showed them numerous examples of his bad behavior.  But they still stood by him, and he's still employed there.

Patronize those shops that support us, not those shops that are patronizing to us.

I'm waiting on stuff to arrive from Hook1. I hope I have good luck with my order. I can't wait to start the rigging process on the Outback.

Austin Kayak has been very good. I ordered the wrong component one time and their return policy was awesome. Also I didn't have to go through a bunch of automated phone menus to talk someone.
For electronics I always bite the big one and spend the extra money buying from the manufacturer

I've had a hard time with two of the sites that pop up first from the search engine.

1) KayakFishingSupplies.com has twice got my order fouled. Once was a missing product and today it was the wrong product.
2) KayakFishingGear.com I ordered once a while back (last year) but for the past two weeks I cannot check out.

I wanted to get on and introduce myself- My name is Brent Torgeson and I own Kayak Fishing Supplies- I want to apologize for our mistakes on your orders.
The most recent one was due to an error on my part- The last couple weeks we were attending our 2 biggest trade shows of the year (Fred Hall Show) and I pulled some guys away from shipping so they could come to the show and had some inexperienced part time help in their place. It back fired on me- you were not the only one we messed up on-

I feel bad that you gave us a second chance after the first mistake and we blew it again-  We are kayak fishermen and may not be the best businessmen, but we do realize that customer service should be and is our top priority!  I hope we can make it right and give us another chance? I do not want to get strike 3-

 Sending you a PM

Fair enough. People are not perfect and I respect your positive business approach. Let's talk offline. I don't have anything personal or a grudge. Lol

Pretty cool to see a boss working to repair a bad experience for a mail order customer. Good on you Brent.

For me it's Kayak Shed, Next Adventure, Austin kayak, and Charkbait.
All have provided outstanding customer service for me.

Next Adventure
Alder Creek

If neither of them have it I probably don't need it.

I have sworn to never do business with Alder Creek. I found their staff to be rude and unprofessional.

I encourage all kayak fishermen to do the same.

Support Next Adventure they are top notch!

Wow, no joke.  Never had any issues there, but then again I've never really talked to their employees other than one time when one cut a piece of a red boat off for me to use as a patch.  Only other times I've been in there I was buying some various rigging doodads and they were close to where I was.  I do recall (vaguely) the one douche that used to post here (Jason?  Something like that) who was the classic internet knowitall but I didn't realize he made threats to people (holy shit I would have loved that challenge).

Pretty sure the guy he threatened didn't feel scared, since he can actually lift a Ling that weighs 20 pounds or better.

So I only got part of my order....waiting on the Gear Tracks to arrive direct from Yak Attack. I ordered through Hook1. It's pretty shitty to not get the most important part of my order. if I had known they were going to ship direct I would have ordered from Yak Attack in the first place. It was 5 days before they even processed my order. I'm not impressed so far.
