I went out to makah bay, by the time I got there then paddled to strawberry rock, my butt was sore. I was wondering if I should just wear my bile shorts under my drysuit.

This is a common thing. I use one of those rubber donuts you can get at the drug store. You can also get different pads... I'm sure some of the other guys will chime in.

Dino showed me a nice self inflating pad during the HOW event today.  I think he said $8 from Amazon.  They were rectangular and had a camo pattern... Would likely fit any kayak seat.

EDIT: Found it: http://www.amazon.com/Allen-Company-Inflating-Cushion-Break-Up/dp/B00025DAX2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1367118047&sr=8-2&keywords=self+inflating+seat+cushion

Nice find Adam...they've come up a bit in 4 years. But I will definitely order a few for HOW. I can fish all day with one of these.

My seat is a little padded on its own, but if I remember, I bring my turkey seat. It is just a pad that you can strap around you.

edit: Oh, yeah. That thing that was posted two posts before mine  :laughing7:

I custom carved a cushion out of closed cell foam.  It really makes a difference on long days.  My boys had a great time making fun of me as I'd carve on it, then sit on it for a while then carve on it some more.  Once it was done, it fit my butt to perfection.

Thanks for the help I will pick one up today. While I'm batting a thousand, with my limit out there I ran out of room to store the fish. Do any of you use diving nets or do you just use stringers?

Until just after ORC or Thanksgiving.

+1 on closed cell foam. Maybe someday I'll splurge on a skwoosh, but I don't know if I trust Velcro to keep it in place when my ass gets dumped in the surf.

I picked up one of those nice foam kitchen pads at costco and carved 3 seat cushions out of it.  They work good.
