Well after debating with myself i decided this mornin to go to meridianand fish kokes... got on the water at 1030 and started trollin the surface, nothin, so thought huh ok down we go and put on a 1.5oz weight changed my lure to one that consistently catches and found em!  Took three eleven inchers home and went 3-11 and had alot of drive bys which was irritating then loaded up around 2 and went and got ready for work...

Great job! I love Kokanee fishing. With the picky biters you may want to try baiting your top hook only (if you're running 2 hooks). It helps with the drive bys.

It may be a dumb question, but how do you identify a kokanee?  Those look like trout to me :-\

Kokanee are bright chrome and can get quite "football" shaped. They have a black tail that sometimes tapers into a translucent end. They have a sharper face/head than most trout. But the biggest difference is on the inside. They usually cut bright pink or bight red like a coho.

Kokanee are landlocked Sockeye Salmon...excellent eaters...a fun and sometimes frustrating quarry
