I grew up in Bellevue and now live in Seattle and love it. It is a beautiful place to live and has a little bit of everything. Demonick .... Why don't you move?

I agree the area is beautiful and has much to offer in natural resources, recreation, and culture, and I have chosen to stay here for my entire life.  It is not the entire area I take issue with, but just the city of Seattle.

I lived in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle for nigh on 20 years, and when I finally decided to move I did not even consider buying in the Seattle city limits.  A city takes on the character of its leadership and a long series of utopian idiots has pulled the once great city of Seattle down.

Here is an example: http://www.demonick.com/diatribes/2008-09-18.Seattle.Toilets.htm

Once called the "The Jet City", showing its pride at being at the forefront of aviation progress, the city and state began a long process of beleaguering Boeing resulting in a flight from the area.  It will take time, but does anyone think Boeing will EVER increase its footprint in Seattle or Washington?  In a "what goes around comes around" sort of moment, the previous "Queen City" moniker seems even more appropriate today than it did for the first 120 years of city history.

Seattle has earned its designation as "Bezerkeley North".

The traffic on the east side is a major pain in the butt so I would stay away from Bellevue...I live down here in Tacoma in the South Sound and I love it. Now, Tacoma does get a bad rap and it does deserve a lot of it but the north end is a great place to live. It has easy access to the water and over to the Olympic Peninsula via the Narrows Bridge. In addition, there are some great lakes like American, Kapowsin, Riffe, Ohop, etc. that offer all types of fish. The cost of living is WAY cheaper down here you just have to avoid the occasional drive-by shooting.  ;D
