Although this will be the first ORC I miss, I wanted to pass along a small hint, especially to all the 1st timers.  Be proactive about dealing with motion sickness.  Every year ghung ho newbies drive long distances with lots of new gear and  enthusiasm only to have the motion of the ocean end thier fun way sooner than they expected.  Even if you don't think you will get sick plan for it anyway.  I have found with most folks (when I was guiding) that if you grab some non drowsy Dramamine or Bonnie, take one before bed, one when you get up and pop as per package directions during the day "most" folks do better than without taking it.   That, and a few 6 inch white/glow/motor oil curl tails on 4-6 oz jigs and you are good to go.

Sorry to hear that you'll miss this year ORC but thanks for the tip Pelagic.

Great reminder.
DB turns into a wishing machine near shore on even low swell days. The rock walls delfect waves and really add to the over all rocking effect.
I am officially not going to make it this year either. Working is going full bore and we have 350,000 pounds of sockeye arriving in the next three days.
Have fun guys and keep an eye out for sneakers.

Great advice!

Also, get good sleep, don't get drunk Friday night, don't drink caffeine that morning, and DO eat.

Good advises but don't eat too much unless you plan on chumming  :puke:

I like to keep eating cliff bars and drinking water. My stomach always feels worst on an empty stomach.

Chapstick is a good idea. DAMHIK. I should have taken pictures of my swollen lip this morning. It looked like Dr. Klums lips in The Nutty Professor. 'My lips hurt real bad!'

Sunscreen is always a must but I will make sure to have some good chap stick in my PFD.

I learned a lot from this ORC...I can't wait till next year!
