I've done fair fishing the north jetty.  I go to the bend and then slide west until I find fish.  Sand shrimp will get you greenling.
I only fish out there on the flood tide.

Fishing the south jetty at night with jigs is a blast when the conditions are right. Some nights you catch a fish every cast. Others you have to work for it. If the tide is ripping, try getting between the fingers where you can work the jig better. You can get them during the day, but the fishing is a lot slower.
