Immediately after paddling, I have got to piss like a race horse! It's not usually an issue while I'm fishing, but after I stand up, I GOTTA go.

Does that happen to anybody else or am I just getting old and need to find a new female Swedish physician for my annual checkup (long, slender fingers)?

I know this is too much information for some, but I figured where better to ask than a forum of my peers. (bad pun) ::)

So how does a race horse do it, exactly?  Is that anything like the way a cow would do it on a flat rock?

On most of the big get togethers that I've been on around Wa. and B.C., most of the guys don't wear wet suits but dry suits or waders.  I've never yet peed into either of those and hope to not.  And so I kinda know where you're coming from.  Mostly I try to be a little on the thirsty side at launch time and then re-hydrate around the campfire after dark.  I'll almost always take water out there, and I usually drink some but I always try to err on the dry side.  I've always had a notoriously quick set of kidneys, and yet I still get by somehow.

If at first you don't succeed....  maybe skydiving is just not for you.

As long as i pee right before i go out, i usually don't have any issues. I got a truckers bladder, so that helps.

I do the same as T, just be a little thirsty going out, only take a small container of water out with me and just re-hydrate after im off the water..
See ya on the water..

good prostate just small bladder!
I have to go quite often mice elf. This is why I had sent my wetsuit to OTTER BAY in Monterey for a "relief zipper" to be installed.
I will try to get to the bank/shore if possible but I have mastered the on board elimination techniques needed to stay out. ;D
I have heard others mention taking a gatorade bottle or such out with them for a depository, just don't ask for a drink from those folks!!!

I have a fast metabolism and some would say a smallish bladder so I have to pee often.  Also I tend to sweat a lot of liquid out so I sometimes get dehydrated.  So I don't hold back and I try to drink as much liquid as I can.  All I can say is that goodness for the relief zipper on my drysuit.  Thank goodness for scupper holes too.

Oh, I have no problem standing up for a "tip toe through the oysters" to help replenish the nitrogen content in the marsh.
I'm talking about not even having an urge to go, then when I get out of the boat, finding ALL of the urges all at once. Maybe I'm just ignoring it when I'm fishing.

So how does a race horse do it, exactly?  Is that anything like the way a cow would do it on a flat rock?

You know, I used to wonder the same thing about that colloquialism. Then I met a friend who had race horses. After a workout, you put the horse in the stall, the trainer ("Hot walker") whistles nonsensically, and the horse pisses very vigorously.
??? strange magic ???
I don't have any friends with cows  ;D

I bought a pair of waist high waders to mate to my dry top for exactly this reason.  When the pressure builds, I paddle to a secluded spot on shore and seek relief.  Holding it in is, best case, a recipe for misery on the water.  Worst case, urinary tract infection.

Were I buying a dry suit, a relief zipper would be a must.

Of course, this wouldn't work so well offshore.  Perhaps a keeper line attached to something like this?
