Will be spending August and part of September in Oregon (waldport and Reedsport). Just got invited to a wedding in Sequim Wa on Oct. 13th.
How is the fishing on the coast in early Oct. The fishing will be the sole factor in my decision to go further up North or drive my trailer and PA12 back to Las Vegas. I am a newby as far as ocean fishing goes, I don't count my 3 months in Fl. as any prep for Washington.Just acquiring all the proper safety gear now. Sorry for running on.
 Thanks

Should still be some good salmon fishing then.  August and Sept is prime time for albacore tuna in both OR and WA.  Not really a yakable fish (20-60 miles off shore) but FUN.

You'll have some salt windows on the OR coast and some fall salmon options. Depoe Bay and Coos Bay are the most popular spots to kayak launch from. Post up when the time gets closer and I'm sure some of the guys would be willing to show you around. As long as you don't show up with shorts and a tank top ;)

I don't really know your ability level... and the weather can be sketchy in oct... but if you come to sequim early you could spend a couple days closing out the ling cod season.  It ends on the 12th of oct.

August/Sept. in Waldport and Reedsport?  Fall Chinook and probably coho in the Umpqua and Alsea Rivers for sure. There are boat ramps right in town.
