Hey all, I've been a long time prowler and have finally decided to join as I will be taking the plunge and driving to Next Adventure down in Portland and buying a new Outback in the morning.  I'm so excited the wife gave me the go ahead to buy this bad boy.  What can I say, she spoils me.  Looking forward to many adventures yet to come.  Anybody have any connections there to help me get a deal on some outfitting gear? :)

No connections, but let's talk home brewing! Welcome! Outback is a fun purchase. Ride it hard and get it scaly.

Welcome to the most fun you can have in wet pants from the deep south! I think you've scored the best fishing boat Hobie has. The Outback is lite, stable, and quick enuf (with the big fins) to get you where you want to go. To make it fishable you'll need a rod and reel, some terminal gear and.......
Hell, that is all you need! A good net is nice, but there isn't anything else that's mandatory for the boat*. (leashes are also a VERY good idea).

No connections, but let's talk home brewing!

Hmmmmm, do I smell another sub sub forum coming on with questions like "how do you harvest isinglass from Sturgeon?? :dontknow:

*That covers the boat. You still need a good pfd and immersion gear.
