I plan to camp/fish Hobuck or La Push this weekend...Anyone else planning to fish up that way?

Got to see about schedule, but if there's nothing else pressing going on I'd love to head out there again.  I need some upgrades on the lings and rockfish!

Have you got a preference for where to fish.  I'd like to try out La Push since I've never been there except for a halibut charter a couple years ago.

I've had good luck just south of sealion rock this spring. We hauled in limits of lings, cabs and some black rocks. We were on a motor boat. My guess is 6-8 miles round trip. I can mark a map if you care. In any case there is a lot of good habitat around there.

I'd really appreciate that...I've haven't fished La Push yet but I feel pretty familiar with it thanks to Google Earth and these helpful posts.

Done deal. It looks like my guess in distance is off quite a bit. I sent you the details of what I know anyway. There are a lot of rock piles out there and my guess is that if you can safely launch and land in good surf and have good conditions otherwise, you can find a greedy fish. Best of luck

la push is a port launch. Unless there is a better spot I don't know about?

I'm out.  Got a chance to go flying with my friend in his Cessna 195.  Been trying to make that flight happen for a while now.  Much as I love fishing, I love flying more.  Got to take the opportunity while it's there.

Looks like last weekend at Hobuck, ORC, and if I'm lucky another weekend in August will be it for bottom fishing for me this year.

That's what I hear...and part of the reason I'm headed there rather than Hobuck as it will be somewhat of a gamble with surf conditions...Plus I know a couple Coasties there at the CG station

Thanks!

Cool, I should make the Hobuck campground in the early evening tomorrow (Friday) and plan to fish it hard on Saturday...if you see a guy in an white (dune?) Outback fishing in all the wrong spots give me a shout...this is my first time out there so I'd appreciate any advice/direction you care to offer.  Depending on conditions, I might move to La Push Saturday Evening and try that on Sunday...totally making it up as I go.

Does the place fill up fast? Do you recommend I make a reservation for a tent spot?

You don't need a reservation...
