Thursday 06/20/13 Simpson Reef

Better later then never...

Met Curtis(junehogs) and Patrick(monkeyfist) At Sunset Bay on Thursday for some fishing. Was Curtis's second trip on the salt and first trip outside Sunset Bay proper.. I really think he got his moneys worth!
     we started at a reef that i usually do well on and couldn't get a bite, the whole while I am looking longingly down to Simpson Reef just wanting to be there. Finally i couldn't take it anymore and i asked if they wanted to to go down there. They were game  and since, even though new they were both geared up for safety so off we went.
    The conditions were good and got better all day. The fishing was painfully slow at times but we all got some. Curtis got his first taste of real salt action and i'm pretty sure he's hooked! We ended up spending a butt wrenching 9 1/2 hours on the water.
   Wasn't in picture taking mode i guess so this is all i got. Wasn't close to anyone most of the time when they caught their fish. Might have a bit of video, gotta find time to go through it. Patrick should have pics to add. Great..and long day on the water

30 and 33 inch piggies..Love the blue meat! whooped after a long day, but i fished 4 hours on friday, 10 1/2 on saturday and another 3 today in the rain..hmmm, What to do tomorrow?..

You're an animal Roy. Good thing you're not addicted to real expensive hobbies like aviation or golf, or you would be flying to Ft. Lauderdale and playing 72 holes in a weekend.

You definitely do a good job sharing the stoke down there. You've probably washed the green off 3/4 of the S. Coast Crew. Hobie is lucky to have such a dedicated guy on their roster.

Those are some fatties. I guess the time on the water was worth it.

Nice report Roy! Those are some nice lings. I need to get out there more than I do! I always kick myself when I find the new reports from over the weekend...I can't catch fish if I'm not fishing.
