Interesting report, seems PCBs are the issue with fish in Lake Washington. And only 20 cutthroat and 3 bass were sampled in total, caught between 2001 and 2003 (very low n). They also admit they tested the whole body and fillets or body meat contain much less PCBs. Much of the PCBS are stored just under the skin and in the head. High levels of PCBs exposure are an issue for developing children and anyone with a compromised immune system and are found everywhere in our environment. It won't change the way I eat trout out of the lake, my immune system works great and won't be a developing child again in this life time.

from the report:
Data from Lake Washington analyzed in this report are limited due to the small sample size for
most size classes of fish (n =10) and the use of whole body fish tissue rather than edible muscle
tissue (fillets). ....Only three smallmouth bass were sampled.

When DOH conducts a human health evaluation of contaminants in
fish, analysis is generally conducted on fillet tissue because the use of
whole body fish tissue is likely to overestimate potential risks to humans.
