After many hours of fishing and many trips to the beach..... I have officially caught enough halibut (& a few other species) to cover the cost of my outback.  Only a few more trips and. I'll have the rest of my gear covered.

That was based on the filet price $18.99/lb here locally.  It took 2 seasons in the Cook Inlet AK.  Now I just need to start catching enough to cover the PA & AI
No matter how many times the PB's tell me I'm nuts....I still smile every time I out fish them

That is what I love about fishing the ocean.  Every year, between the crab and the fish fillets, I more than pay for the gas burned to get  there.  Also, it covers the expenses for all the failed salmon attempts. :)
