ODFW Bottom Fish Reg Meetings

Greetings everyone, I hope all is well.

I thought all of you Oregon spearos should know:

Public meetings focus on sport halibut, bottomfish regulations.
Oregon fishermen will be asked to help set future Pacific halibut and bottomfish seasons and regulations in four public meetings in August. All of the meetings will start at 7 p.m.

Aug. 6, 7, 12 & 13


Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the Tillamook ODFW office conference room, 4907 Third St., Tillamook;

Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the Holiday Inn Express, 135 SE 32nd St., Newport;

Monday, Aug. 12, at the Best Western Beachfront Inn, 16008 Boat Basin Road, Brookings;

Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the North Bend Public Library, 1800 Sherman Ave., North Bend.

To say the least, these meetings are very important and will directly affect all Oregon ocean fishermen. As with most of you, I would say that 100% of my catches are bottomfish. I would encourage all to try to attend one of these meetings. I would also encourage everyone to spread the word to all fishermen, whether spearos or anglers. We ALL have a vested interest.
