I'm heading down for a family reunion on my wife's side tomorrow. Gonna be there a couple days and would like to take a rod or two so I don't loose my mind. No kayak, but I was hoping to find some sort of body of water to fish. I think there is a river or something that runs through Glide.
Anybody know that area that has any recommendations on places to fish and what species are available in that area?
Thanks!
Paul

Good smallmouth fishing on the Umpqua around Elkton. About a 40 minute drive from Roseburg. Theres some bank access a few miles upstream from Elkton. Under the bridge in Elkton is a good spot also. The bridge over the umpqua, not Elk creek.

North Umpqua.  Good steelie waters and you might catch one on an egg pattern.  Also good smallmouth fishing on the Umpqua west of I-5.  The local shops will put you on the fish.  Or call Darren Roe from Roe Outfitters in Klamath Falls.  He fishes it often and is happy to give advice.

Dont know about Glide, but the Umpqua from roseburg up to Diamond lake,is one of the most beautiful stretches of river you will ever see.Lots of river rafting..good salmon and steelhead fishing...but lots of regs too.Fly fishing only stretches.Nice campgrounds right on the river...not for our big trailers though! A drive up the river will make you want to spend more time there!
