X-wing leader caddy

Got the X-wing all set up with pole holders, and decided to try to rig a leader caddy on it with the scotty rod holders, and 1/2 inch sched 40 PVC.  I took 1.5 inch pieces of the PVC straight into the barrel coupling the other end of this peice sits just right in the pole holder to allow for full adjustment on the holder, and fasten the leader caddy in place, another 1.5 inch piece into the 45 deg coupler, then cut the middle piece to length, making sure to only use the glue on 1 side of the long piece so it can come apart to replace the pipe insulation as needed.

got impatient with waiting for the wind to die down at Jones beach by the house and tryed the set-up out today (there must be a reason the kite boarders love the place).  was way too windy to try to tie off on the pilings on the WA side of the river and try out the rod holders positions on the X-wing.  trolled around for 4 hours with no luck (really need to get that fishfinder to see were the bottom is).  the wind was making for some pretty choppy conditions in the main channel, poked in some of the sloughs to get outa the wind for a bit, but other than Wallace slough (southern most soulgh) by jones beach, most are too shallow for salmon/steelhead.  hopefully these windy days will die down soon.
