Oasis Rod Holder ideas wanted!  What was your solution for a trolling setup?  My setup needs to be able to handle trolling with deep six divers.  I know Scotty mounts are up to the task, but I don't know where to put them.  Deck space is extremely limited, and what deck space there is has rudder lines running all over the place.

I used 8" GearTrac GT90 + Scotty 438 gear head + Folbe rod holders to troll for cohos using deep six....three seasons without any problems.

You can put a Scotty mounts ahead of the rudder up & down pulls. I used 1/4" bolts with fender washers and nylock nuts. Had to bend a couple of the washers. There was plenty of clearance for the lines. The mount just fits on the flat area.

I use a gear head extension to get the rod holder closer to me, as it is a bit of a reach. I think you are about the same height as me, so you might want to do the same.

on our 2012 there is just enough flat deck on each side, I have Scotty mount on one side, 1.5" ram ball on the other...I think I used 10-24 bolts with normal sized washers on the inside, hull seems plenty thick there...I also have a ram mount with round base in the center that lets me put a GPS or sonar right behind the forward seat...cheers, roger

I've decided to go a similar route as Cpt Redbeard with installing tracks.  A little pricey, but I can take all the mounts off when I don't want them on (bottom fishing) and move rod holders to wherever I need them, without needing tools.

You will be happy with the rails I have them and you can adjust gear on the water if you want it closer our if it's in the way
