Going to be camping at Beverly Beach state park this upcoming weekend with the family...bringing the outback , although I dont expect any big windows for fishing. My hope is to find some time to play in the surf...get in ,get out ,get wetetc. Of course my mind starts taking it to the next level...if its going well, and Im past the break...I should have a pole with me!
Tried the search function for Beverly..didnt get any recent information..seen some older posts..was BB a tournament site a few years back?
Anyway, is there unusual structure or reefs to watch out for?
Was thinking of dragging a herring around, but only within sight of beach, clear day,etc....definitely not trying to push limits.
Anybody fish or launch here recently?

DTS and I just camped there Thursday night.

There is a break in the waves pretty much straight out from the campground.  I would study the waves for a bit and see if gives you enough time to get out there or not fully loaded for fishing.  Once you are past the breakers, you shouldn't have much of an issue fishing out there. There are few big rock structures offshore that you could throw a lure at and see what bites.

It's on my list of places to launch from.

BTW, it was extremely Foggy most of the day.

Yes, we fished out of Depoe in the fog all day.

Stupid me, I didn't check the ODFW updates myself and relied on an outgoing boat whether Cabs were still legal.
He said they were not, and had been closed for at least a month.  So, I released two 8-10lb Cabs and DTS released one about the same weight.  Got home and checked the regs and the site is currently down for a server move, but the PDF's for current updates still just says July 1 - Sept 30th.  I'm still not sure if there is a quota that would shut it down early or not.

Lings were all less than 20", but did bring home 3 decent blacks.  DST brought home one big fat black.

Hoping to head back down there again before Sept.

Surf/swell/wind forecast looks pretty favorable for this weekend so far to me - I'd definitely bring your pole(s) and gear. I have not fished out of there (yet) but it's on the list. As already mentioned just head for the rock structure.

Isn't some of that a marine garden/marine sanctuary/temple/church or something now?

Link didn't work for me but thank you for the info. I'm too lazy to just look at the ODFW regs  I'll be honest, I've wanted to fish Beverly Beach ever since that Oregon Field Guide episode.
