So I get back to the coffee shop after some shopping and one of the girls tells me a package arrived for me. I wasn't waiting anything  to come and I really wasn't sure what to expect. And then I see that it's a gift and there is a note from NWKAs own Rudy kardinal_84!
Man, that is awesome! It really meant a lot to me. I can't thank you enough. I noticed that the forecast looks awesome for bottom fishing this Friday. I think it may be time to get the new Revo nice and salty! I don't remember the last time I went fishing at Simpson Reef. I'll definitely use these jigs and see if I can't entice some monsters! Thanks again, Rudy!

Lol. Glad ya got it.  I likely won't get down there anytime soon so I wanted to just drop off a "store warming" gift. I'd easily spend that in coffee in a week if I was anywhere near close.

I'm lucky to have a decent (but never secure) job but you are living my dream!!! Good luck to you and like I said, don't forget to take a break and fish!!!!

Now that I am home I wanted to add that I have had really good luck with these jigs.  I am a hard core bait guy but these are some of the artificial I will carry out on the saltwater.

I've caught rockfish and salmon prospecting by dropping them to the bottom and jigging and taking up slack as fast as I can.  Here's the concept.  This is for Shimano but similar.

Also with the hooks up top, you can bounce it on the bottom without snagging up.  Through experience, seeing it through ice fishing, and videos ,  the sound and the sediment that get kicked up attract fish better than any bait.  Here's an ice fishing example.  It's freshwater but I have experienced it enough in saltwater to believe it works the same way in saltwater.  it's not the only way to attract fish, but you can see how well it works here when i thump the camera against the bottom.  These are just bait fish, but if they are around in those numbers, its a super great attractant for larger fish.

Also don't be afraid to use the large size for smaller fish.  It's not any larger than green label herring and I catch rockfish no bigger than the lure.  Another trick is to place a mini hoochie on the assist hooks.  I think it is even more effective than just jigging the mini-hoochie because the fish perceive the jig as competition for the hoochie and will strike it harder and immediately.  I use the same concept ice fishing by jigging a smaller jig under a small trolling flasher.  It really ups the strikes and now I know a lot of folks who run the setup. I also run large spoons and routinely catch fish that seem way to small to strike the lure. In Japan, big baits are a growing in popularity and one of my Japanese friends used it here and did well.

Good Luck!!! Hope you find time to give them a try!

I can probably be on the water by 3pm possibly sooner. It just depends on if we are crazy busy or not. The wind looks like it will be down all day. I have a new number! I will message you guys to give you the digits.
