Testing the waters from Vancouver, WA

Greetings all.  Long-time kayaker and wade gear/fly-fisherman...just now taking the plunge and putting it all together.  Eight weeks since I picked up a 2014 Hobie Outback.  Basic equipping done, seven trips on lower Columbia, one Chinook and one Silver netted to date.  Drawn to this pursuit for its simplicity and sense of fair sport.  Will be scanning posts hoping to learn saltwater techniques, ways to keep catch fresh, and dressing for cold water.   I'm new to PNW and am curious about the fishing opportunities in SW Washington/N Oregon between the fall and spring Chinook runs (other than Sturgeon).  Maybe it's possible to chase Steelhead on the big river or Kokanee in lakes in winter?  Lots to learn.
