I hope everyone has a great Veterans/Remembrance Day (Canadian name for the same thing). I spent a great afternoon yesterday with my 90 year old father-in-law hauling alder for firewood. He served in WW2 in our Air Force and was a tree faller for years after the war. Now he drives my MIL and wife crazy by dropping 60 ft alder trees on his property before i get up there to help him. He and my MIL still go to the legion dances every weekend. The WW2 vets are getting thin on the ground (my own father passed away several years ago) so it's good to see the 2 of them still going strong.

Thanks to all who serve or served to protect our freedoms!

Fuming a bit that the school district here doesn't observe Veterans' day BUT observes MLK day.  BS X 1000000000!  Not that I am unhappy I have the house without kids because my employer does observe it.

Thanks for your sacrifices!

My employer -(Georgia Pacific) is allowing vets the day off for the first time this year. It's unpaid, but it's another day off!
