I only got 120 yards of it. It's 65 lb stealth braid. I have it on my Abu Garcia 6001C reel. I'm hoping to use it trolling for salmon and hooking monster lings and cabbies at the coast. Anyone see anything wrong with fishing with only 360 feet of line? Thanks for your insights in advance.

Think the Landlord'll take me on a joy ride with only 360 ft of line?

Ooooooooo!

Seriously, I'm still crapping my pants over that one!

Haha it would be a short ride! I have about 150 yards on all my reels and that seems to be plenty. I will never fish that deep and I have yet to have a fish spool me. I think you will be fine.

Thanks, Ling ling. I figured I'd be good. Can't see myself fishing deeper than 150 ft with that reel.

With the 6001 you may want to put some backing under the braid to take up spool space.  The Abu's line retrevial rate will be maximized when full.  Quite helpful when a bay chinook smokes off 50yrds, does a 180, and comes right back at you.

True. What would you go with seeing as that I'm all out of Spiderwire? 50lb mono or Dacron Braid?

Thanks for the reminder.

Of the two probably mono.  The braid could possibly dig into the dacron and bind a bit if you ever reached the bottom of the spiderwire.

Yeah, I ended up going with the 50 lb. Ande mono. It was a heck of a time looking for a good knot to connect the two. Finally ended up using a uni-knot. Thanks for your help, everyone.

sounds like your on the right track.

I've previously just had my large spools filled using the "bulk spools".  It gets pretty spendy but you don't need to worry ab out knots breaking or snagging in the guides.
