Neoprene boots, calf high in winter, ankle high in summer, unless it's a river with lots of gravel , then go with the calf high in summer as well

There are boots designed specifically to be worn with drysuits but I just wear SCUBA boots...just buy them a couple sizes bigger than normal so there's room for the suit's socks and a pair of heavy wool socks when it's cold...if it's too tight in there your feet will get cold quickly.

I don't get any sand or gravel in the boots as there's a substantial cuff on my Kokatat suit that fits down over the boot to seal that crap out.

Kayak Pro Shop has a mark down on these which are good. Apparently not too many sizes to choose from but a good deal http://www.kayakproshop.com/NRS_Cross4.html

On the outside I wear the Kokatat Portage Neoprene Kayaking Shoe.  On the inside I wear merino wool socks.  That combo has done really well for me.

On the SOT I usually just use my korkers wading boots. I do really like the keen gorge boot for a more traditional bootie, which is kinda unfortunate as it was discontinued. Next did buy up a lot of the remaining stock as a closeout though

I wear NeoSport Wetsuits Explorer 5mm Explorer Boot and I'm not quite happy with them. They are OK, but water gathers in the ankle area and I end up carrying around about 2 quarts of water on each leg. I'm considering sewing-in a couple of velcro straps and tighten ankles and shins a little bit.

I have the high top version of these boots - and find the same thing.  They work great protecting the dry socks and are quite comfortable to pedal in, but do collect water - just not as much as you find with the explorer boots.

I have a couple different sizes, depending on whether I'm wearing wool socks underneath or not.

I have a pair of these that lasted 5 years of active use. Last fall one foot frayed out on the pinky side of the ball of the foot. I just ordered replacements. Get a size bigger than your shoe size. Tighten the strap when walking on land, but loosen it on the water.  I've often worn more than one pair of merino wool socks under the drysuit plus a toe warmer - I run a little cold.

Has anyone got any experience with Foreverlast Reef Boots?  They look like they would be good and heavy duty.

I use a pair of aquasocks, got them for about $10,  1 size larger so there is room for the superangler socks with insulating socks under them.   These work great with the Mirage drive pedals and protect the drysuit socks well.  cheers, roger
