Siletz Bay

We are going to be near Lincoln City at the end of the month with the grandkids and was looking at Siletz Bay for a good place to fish.  Curious on the tide effect and also if the timing would be right for some Spring Chinook.  Never fished the coastal areas before so really don't have a clue.  Will be in a 13' double kayak.  Not interested in going into the open ocean with the kids. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Also for any bicyclists out there:  any decent mountain bike rides in the area?  Did a search but nothing comes up.

A little on the early side for springers. Coastal rivers don't typically start heating up until May. Plenty of good steelhead rivers nearby that should be holding a few fish, mostly nates. Devils lake offers some opportunities for trolling for Rainbows which would be fun to do with kids. Easy troll with ford fender (0000) and a wedding ring. Also surf perch off the beach.

Use caution in the bay. Especially with kiddos, fish incoming tides only, don't get sucked out. Siletz doesn't get Springers only a fall run. There's a lot of winter steel in the system now but it is brown and high. Should be some catching when it clears and drops. Cuts up past Moonshine Park might be good by month end.

As for bike trails, there's not much in the LC area, mountain or road.  Not very bike friendly at all unless you want to pedal up and down HWY 101.
