I'm trying to decide between going to Longview or Westport tomorrow.

Was wondering if anyone has any reports on the condition of the Columbia - heard rumors of "dirty, cold, logs, and no springers?  Is it worth going there?

According to iFISH they're here and the rivers are fishing.

Lots of people fishing  Multnomah channel today. Good sign that sprinters are in. Bonneville dam counts are low still.

Springers, not sprinters. Although a large migration of Mercedes and freightliner vans would be entertaining.

the lower river has cleared up quite a bit in the last week, and I'm getting decent reports from the bank anglers I've talked with.  still a lot of water in the river though - pick your fishing hole wisely.  I checked out county line park yesterday about two hours after low tide and the water was cooking right along.

I fished Sellwood today and saw quite a few springers boated. I heard yesterday was even better. None for me despite 4.5 hours on the troll but it is nice to see that the fish are here and the Willamette is more than fishable.
A dude told me that a kayaker got one at Sellwood yesterday so maybe someone isn't fessing up.

I was out of Cathedral park last weekend, lots of boats and nobody was catching yet.  I trolled Davis yesterday evening and pretty much had it to myself: no fish, but saw three fur bags heading up river.

I was fishing from 7 till 11:30 off of Oaks Park yesterday by the plastic kayak dock. Saw about six fish landed, heard of several more from above the bridge and down by the estuary entrance. But perhaps you folks should wait to fish until some more reliable info gets passed along.
