Took my son fishing from the jetty this past weekend and now more than ever he wants a kayak to fish from. We were going to build our own but realize time to build is not there and we would not save any money. We want a SOT and need some info from you fine folks. So please help this dad find a couple boats that will work for us and not break the bank. Hobies are nice but not in our price range. I did see some chatter about the west marine boats and wanted to know could those work in the bays and possibly at pacific city.
Thanks for the help
John

Hey John, the  west marine boats offer excellent value, I assume you're talking about the pompano 120. I have the same boat with the wilderness systems badging and it will do bays or the ocean no problem as long as you're on the lighter side or 200 lbs.

Actually I had not seen the pompano I was looking at the abaco 13.5. I thank you for your input and will look at the pompano and see if I can swing that since it is only a little more money than the other boat. Again thank uou for your input and time.

Thank you for the info. I think I might go that route so we can have some extra room for when in the lake for siblings or scuba gear. Now comes te search for the money tree. Thanks again for the help
