Yeah it is tough to decide.  I asked the question a l-o-n-g time ago, Rudy, and I'm still sitting on the fence.  I use the "but it doesn't compare to my pro DSLR's" excuse, but it's just an excuse.  I'll do what I always do and worry it to death until after the sale prices end.  It makes The Boss irritable to watch me, but I can't seem to stop myself.

It might be cheaper and work out better if you cajoled or just paid someone to follow you around and take pictures every so often.  I need to get to Alaska some day before I die.  It's on my List.  If I do get up there, I'd be honored to be able to photograph you.  No charge.  Orca optional.

C'mon up Kevin!!!!  I typically like to buy things a little over my abilities and then hopefully learn and grow into them.  But as long as I have an "acceptable" camera, I still think the best way to go is to have another camera on a separate kayak to really get the shots. I'm certainly not wealthy enough to hire a powerboat to follow me around!  haha.  Having said that,  a good friend of mine in the marketing business just bought a drone he says he wants to try out.  ooo....no, arghhh....more fun toys!!!! Hahaha.

So I think I am shooting for something in the $600 to $800 range for now.  I have to open up some room in the "fun" budget as I think I am going to pick up a professional Microphone, preamp, and mixing board.  Another potential investment that would raise the  quality of my video voice overs but also I have a few minor offers to do voice over work so I may set up a small home recording studio in a walk in closet.  it never ends....maybe I should just fish!!!!

A friend in Marketing?  Do a kayak fishing show for cable TV!  You could fish, film and do all the production work, and maybe even get paid for both hobbies...

The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.

Lol. It has crossed my mind.  My marketing contact has all the right stuff to edit and produce. His niche is local TV ads.  If all these ideas paid half my current salary, I'd do it without thinking.  Unfortunately 1% is going to cut it. Haha. It would be fun...until it turned into an obligation!

I do have a meeting next week with a local outdoor big box marketing dir. Maybe I'll pitch an idea.  Hmmmm
