Those LiFe batteries are the good stuff. Too bad their prices skyrocketed in the last five years.
My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.

Yeah I'm thinking I'll take the LiFe battery back for now.  From what I read, they are clearly a superior battery, but man do they make you pay for it.

I have had this recommended to me from a couple of different sources and have been using it for a little while now and I really like it.  I've had a couple of 12 volt gel cells become sulfated because I forgot to keep them charged when not in use for longer periods of time.  With this system, I plug in my battery when I get back from the water and forget about it.  I don't have to worry about leaving my battery on charge for too long, which can damage the battery or shorten the life.  It charges the battery, then trickle charges the battery every once in a while to keep the battery at an optimal charge level.

+1 on the Battery Tender recommendation.  I've had the Battery Tender Plus for other batteries for several years, and follow the same procedure with my fish finder battery when returning home from fishing.  I have the matching connector on my battery, fish finder, and the charger - makes all the connections real simple.

The Junior Charger looks like it would be great as an extra and/or for travel purposes!
