Allow me to introduce myself. I'm pushing sixty, been fishing since I was two. I first fished from  a kayak five or six years ago with Dennis Spike. I've since bought two OKs, a Malibu Two and a Caper for the wife. I'm really good at storing them. I've had mine out about four times. I'm hoping to meet up with some others to share info and fun times. I live on the dry side of Oregon and would like to get the dust off these yaks.

Welcome,

haha I'm the opposite, I need help storing mine (got two 14' yaks in my single bedroom apartment), but i've been out over 12 times in the three weeks or so i've had them.  Good luck fishing, and look forward to hearing more about your fishing experiences and you getting your kayaks in the water.  What part of Oregon, Central?  Eastern?

Welcome aboard Salmuraisan!

I'm guessing you're from the east side?  Where abouts?

I'll be camping at Unity Reservoir next week.  Drop me a note if you want to hook up for some yak fishing.

Welcome aboard.  I'm fairly new to fishing here in Oregon, what can you tell us about fishing in Eastern Oregon?  I wouldn't mind checking it out one of these days, but I wouldn't know where to begin.  If you ever find yourself eager to head over to Portland to fish let me know.

Hi All, A couple more steps and I would be from Idaho. Brian, let me know what/where you'd like to explore over here and I'll find out for you. Spot, I'll be around Unity over the 4th weekend. Let me know when you'll be up there. If you're a bug flicker, I've been hearing good things about Malheur Res. Good Luck all. Be safe out there......Salm

I'll be at Unity from the 3rd thru the 6th.  I haven't tried fly fishing from the yak yet but I've been known to flick a few bugs.  What kind of patterns work around there?
Any skinny on Unity?  This'll be my 1st trip there.

Hi Spot, I have not fished Unity myself in YEARS! I would imagine any of the still water patterns would produce. I did spend some time, last year, in the river below the dam and did well with garden hackle on rainbows to about 16 inches. Good Luck! If I go, I'll be looking for a kayak angler.
