I will probably be going to American on Monday.  Due to logistics and one car down, I will probably be getting there late 9ish and having to get off the water by 2ish.  Short trip but the only day off, so you go with what you got.  Hitting the water earlier is a much better deal.

I don't know if you have a downrigger, but this last week the Kokanee were at about 26 feet.  Which is pretty reachable even without one.
