I am trying to troll for kokanee out on american lake.  Im using a small dodger with a 1oz in line trolling weight and line snubber with a small squid, but my rig keeps getting tangled around the dodger while I'm trolling.  anyone know how to fix this?

If you showed a pic of your setup I might have a better idea. Could be lack of swivels--put a small sampo ball bearing swivel on the end of your line before your dodger and maybe a small chain swivel on the line between the dodger and your lure.

I don't know the kind of craft you are using, but if you are using a paddle, it can be tough to deploy and be moving forward.  Increase the length of line between your weight and your flasher a bit and try and move forward a couple of times during deployment.

I am no longer a dealer for Wavewalk but if you ever want to paddle one let me know!

As TSquared mentioned use SAMPO swivels. They really are better, and you can hardly use too many - at least fore and aft of the dodger.

Another reason for tangled trolling rigs is turning too sharply.  Too sharp of a turn will stall the gear in the water and start it tumbling. Starting and stopping the troll can do it too.  Deploy under power and maintain power until you pull in the gear.

How long is the line after the dodger? I usually don't use more than a foot or so.  Also, the only time I usually tangle gear when trolling is when I stop moving and then the current starts moving me backwards. But, that is only when using a dropper.  If you let your gear down too fast without enough forward momentum, it will tangle as well.
