Way back in the beginning of my kayak fishing career, this topic came up and was covered pretty thoroughly then. I vaguely remember thinking about installing an electric bilge pump that would run off my FF battery if it came to be needed. But, then I picked up a Scotty hand up and forgot all about the electric bilge pump.

I may revisit this concept, as the electric bilge could be in operation while I was working on something else, maybe the hand pump or just trying to stay stable. I would imagine that an electric bilge pump attached inside the hull would still be lighter than a hull full of noodles. Routing the outflow of the bilge was one of my main concerns back then, and I still haven't thought it all the way through yet. I would imagine that there is some kind of check valve that could be installed that would allow water out under pump pressure, but no water in when not in use.

Maybe I'll pick up an electric bilge and wire it up to my FF battery and see how long it can pump water till it drains the battery?

This video gives a pretty good representation of water volume that a LIPO battery can muster on a charge. I'd hope that my 12V 7aH lead acid brick could follow suit.
