Anyone have any advice on the Columbia around this area for salmon or bass? Maybe
even sturgeon for the fun of it but would like to fish for something I would have a chance
to take home.

Thanks

Warm summer weekends bring jet skis, sailboats, wakeboarders, drunks, you name it.  Yes there are fish, but go very early in the morning to avoid the above, plus wind.  Let us know how you do.
