Figured it was about time to review my track system.

Hey shoeman,
You make good videos, and thank you for sharing. If your worried about it popping out while trolling some weight or added drag maybe a stronger material could help. Lets grab a beer and talk about that track. I could take some dimensions and we can discuss milling one out of a solid bar of aluminum for you. It was fun fishing with you, and lets get out on the water again sometime.

Thanks man. I actually got a tweet from Scotty after they watched my review and they said that their tracks are not but to handle big game. I was thinking of adding a flush mount just ahead of the track so I can have a spot for trolling. The Scotty tracks only cost 5 bucks and the work amazing for my fishfinder.

It seems kind of lame to make something that can't handle a big fish. I was shocked to see that the mount pulled out of the tracks so easily. I'm glad I saw your review. I was seriously thinking about picking some of that stuff up rather than spending all the extra cash on the Yak Attack version. I think it's money well spent to go with the Gear Tracs.

If these are the 1st gen Scotty tracks, they are not built to handle small game either.  You can pop a rod holder out of them pretty easily.  DAMHIK.

from what scotty told me the scotty gearhead is also not rated for big game so if you get the yak attack tracks get the other larger scotty mighty mount.

I don't believe that.  I've used the gearheads in a mighty mount and it is rock solid.  I've also used them with other Scotty gear, rod holders and regular Scotty mounts, with no issues either.  I think the weak point is just the Scotty tracks.  They are supposedly re-designing them.  We'll see  ...

I was meaning the Gearhead track adapter http://www.amazon.com/Scotty-Gear-Head-Track-Adapter/dp/B009JAZW6O
That is why I said to go with a mighty mount because they can handle the force and work with a track system.
