Gonna be camping with the family on Fidalgo Island this next week...hoping to get out a day for some fishing. I know of one lake in the vicinity....would rather target salmon or steelhead.Anybody have any info about this area ?Thanks for any tips or comments....

Since this forum is open to all, including power boaters, many are reluctant to share specific fishing information in the open forums.  You may have better luck with such questions in the "Washington Fishing Reports Subforum".

Thanks, Demonick. Not gonna repost ...we're already here. Figured with late notice,ORC excitement..wasn't expecting a huge response. But if that's the case with you or anyone else ...would love a PM! I'm good for at least a couple beers when I can track ya down. Heard that by Lime Kiln on San Juan Island was worth a shot...might be a little ambitious with ferry, etc. Thanks again...

Latest issue of nw sportsman highlights some spots in that area. Apparently fidalgo head holds some salmon. There's a public lot and a beach launch w of skyline marina.

actually, washington park would be a better launch, and IIRC there's no parking fee.  If you're feeling gamey, reef point is reachable by kayak from there and is a well-known summer salmon haunt.

Why is the fishing window closing? Salmon are going to start soon! However, Baker is looking grim :( The last two days have picked up though.
