Pacific Outfitters and Lost Coast Kayak Anglers will be hosting the 4th annual Trinidad Rockfish Wars kayak fishing tournament on September 13th 2014. This year we have opened up the tournament to KAYAKS, CANOES & S.U.P.’s! There will be only 100 seats available for the tournament. We’ve already pre-sold 30 seats. This tournament is set up for two person teams. We do this for safety and social reasons. If you don’t have a team member, sign up anyways and we will partner you up with someone.

All tournament entries will receive a GIFT BAG.

We will be offering 1st, 2nd & 3rd place TEAM prize packages. This year the 1st place team gets 2 OLD TOWN PREDATOR KAYAKS Other prize packages consist of Char-Broil BBQ’s, Hotel Packages, Gift Cards, Waterproof HD Cameras, Camping Gear, Kayaking Gear and Fishing Gear. We rounded up over $6000 in prizes for this tournament. There are only 100 seat open so sign up as soon as possible. We will also have Trinidad Rockfish Wars shirts available to entries turned in by September 1st.

We are also offering prizes for:

*Most valuable fish in each species.

*Barbie Pole Challenge (most valuable fish caught on a barbie pole). If Barbie Pole is not availble, Batman, Spider Man or equivalent will be acceptable. Line can be changed out and duct table can be added. No other modifications. Must video your catch.

*Hand-line Challenge (most valuable fish caught on a hand-line).

There will be a pre-tournament meeting at Pacific Outfitters of Eureka at 4:00pm the day before (Sept. 12th).

The post-tournament rewards Pot-Luck will be held at the Emerald Forest www.cabinsintheredwoods.com.

Our tournament has received international attention by Ocean Paddler Magazine (see link below and go to page 10)

People can sign-up and/or view all the details of the tournament via internet at www.trinidadrockfishwars.com, www.rockfishwars.com and www.trw4.com

This is a multi-species tournament. There are 8 eligible species of fish that may be turned in for points. You need to have a minimum of 3 different species and you can turn in up to 6 fish per team. We score all the fish, regardless of which species, by POINTS PER INCH. When the length is between two numbers, we will always round down. As always, Department of fish and Wildlife rules and regulations apply. Catch and release has to follow the same rules as if you were keeping the fish. Below is a list of the species of fish that can be turned in for this tournament AND the points per inch for each species:

*LINGCOD – 6 PTS PER INCH         *HALIBUT – 8 PTS PER INCH         *GREENLING – 11 PTS PER INCH         *BLACK ROCKFISH – 8 PTS PER INCH          *BLUE ROCKFISH – 8 PTS PER INCH

*CHINA – 13 PTS PER INCH         *CABAZON – 7 PTS PER INCH         *VERMILLION – 9 PTS PER INCH
