Saw this on Youboob and thought that this would be a great product for those that didn't want to drill holes in their kayak, or want to glue anything inside their kayak for a transducer install.  That and it would allow for universal use on different kayaks that may be in a guys fleet.

Not the cheapest alternative, but their product looks really well made from the pictures on their website.

The problem with magnetic mounts is that they work fine as long as you don't bump them, but if you bump them, they can fall right off.  It's an all-or-nothing deal.  I have a Showdown ice fishing fish finder, and often carry it in a trailer behind my snowmobile.  To protect it, I replaced the soft nylon case it comes in with a 30 cal. ammo can.  When transporting the fish finder, I stow the sonar screen inside the ammo can.  When using the fish finder, I stick the sonar screen on the outside of the ammo can with a big magnet.  This works fine unless I bump the sonar screen, because despite the strength of the magnet, it can pop right off the ammo can.

So I suspect that the magnetic transducer mount will pop right off the outside of your kayak if you bump it.  You won't lose the transducer and the mount, because they are attached to the sonar unit with a cable.  But you'll need to grab it and stick it back in place, which could get boring.  Furthermore, if the transducer mount gets knocked off the outside of the kayak, the magnet on the inside of the kayak will slide down into the bottom of your kayak, unless you tape it in place.  Sorry to be a buzz killer.  But that's what I think.
